Thought of the Week

Is it just me, or does it feel like the years 2020, 2021 and 2022 have been written by Stephen King, directed by Quentin Tarantino with a sound track by Yoko Ono.

LIONFEST Volunteers

Our friends at the TM Lions Club will be holding their huge three-day Lionfest this coming weekend. Their club, which is smaller than ours, works this full event and spends several additional days doing set up and take down.

To make this work, the Lions Club depends on volunteers from outside their organization. Why do others volunteer? Because all of the proceeds from this annual event will be distributed to local non-profits and Lions projects. Speaking personally, the Lions are consistent donors to both the MT Historical Society and our Adult Literacy Center of Ozaukee County.

Shifts are generally three hours long. The time flies by, and I always enjoy seeing old friends as patrons and fellow volunteers.

To volunteer, bring up this website and pick your shift(s): http://tmlions.org/volunteer/

New PolioPlus Society in Rotary District 6270

Rotary District 6270 is excited to announce the start of the PolioPlus Society in our district. This is a district program to recognize those Rotarians, Rotaractors, and friends of Rotary, who have pledged to give at least $100 annually to the PolioPlus Fund of The Rotary Foundation, until the wild poliovirus is no longer endemic around the world. The goal of this PolioPlus Society is to raise awareness and provide recognition for Rotary’s goal of eliminating the disease from the planet.

We would like to invite you to consider and join the Rotary District 6270 PolioPlus Society by completing the pledge form on the PolioPlus Society page. Members of the Rotary District 6270 PolioPlus Society will receive a certificate and a specially designed PolioPlus Society lapel pin.

Cub Pack 3894, which meets at Oriole Lane School, is sponsored by M-T Sunrise Rotary, a commitment made a number of years ago by our Club at the urging of former member and past president, Terry Schact.  Terry was the Club's initial liaison to the Cub Scouts, a role Connie Pukaite has fulfilled in recent years.  The Cub Pack engages with Sunrisers every Fall for a service project at the Woods in Rotary Park; and we serve as hosts for their annual Blue & Gold awards banquet at Reuter Pavilion every June.
